support

Setting up a centre is not possible only with enthusiasm. Currently we have a staff of two, but hardly any funding to develop our organizational and technical structure, invest in activities or develop the necessary mechanisms to reach out to our potential audience, e.g. through a website, leaflets and the first publications. Lithuania is recovering from the Soviet past, but funding in the field of academia and education is still a very difficult issue and we will not be able to do our work without external support. Fundraising is necessary, yet that takes time and usually does not provide funding for operational expenses.

Donate

The Andrei Sakharov Research Center

To broaden and stabilize our financial base we will soon establish a foundation named “Friends of the Andrei Sakharov Research Center”.

You are encouraged to make a one-time or annual financial donation. Financial support can soon be transferred to a special account in the Netherlands. Friends in the United States can make out a check to “GIP-USA” indicating it is for the Sakharov Center. Donations will be tax-deductible.

As a Friend you will be kept informed of our activities.

For those who agree to donate 100 euro or more we will have a present: this summer we will issue a recording of the 2017 Andrei Sakharov Commemorative Concert that was organized in Odessa, Ukraine. The recording is made in a very limited number and is therefore a “must have” for those who love classical music and/or believe in the ideals that Andrei Sakharov stood for.

We very much hope you will join us in this endeavour and decide to support our Centre’s development.
