Egidius Aleksandravicius (LT)

Prof. Egidijus Aleksandravičius, a historian, is the head of Academia cum laude of the Vytautas Magnus University, professor at the Department of History and director of the Lithuanian Emigration Institute. He is a publicist,
a well-known public intellectual in Lithuania.

Egidijus Aleksandravičius was a visiting fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Wisconsin-Madison, USA), a visiting professor at university of Finland (Helsinki, Finland) and University of Illinois (Chicago, USA) and University of Bologna (Bologna, Italy). His main research themes are Lithuanian 19th century, history of culture, Lithuanian historiography, and the history of Lithuanian emigration.

Prof. Aleksandravičius is the author of twenty books, and authored more than a hundred articles in the Lithuanian and foreign scientific press. He is also the chairman of the Board of the Open Lithuanian Foundation, member of the Board of the World Lithuanian Association, and a member of the Lithuanian Historical Society and the Samogitian Cultural Society.
