
Bohdan Polovynko is a political science PhD candidate and lecturer at Vytautas Magnus
University as well as an intern at NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence. His research
focus is energy security and regional securitization. His background is international: he
attended international schools in Turkey and Ukraine and graduated high school from
Brussels American School. In 2022 in Lithuania he earned a Bachelor's degree in
International politics and development, in 2024 a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and
International relations both from Vytautas Magnus University. He did multiple internships in
NATO related organisations, and he also interned at the Regional Cyber Defence Centre
under the ministry of national defence of the republic of Lithuania. He participated in
numerous local and international conferences and workshops such as a guest, speaker or
an organiser. One of his key interests include NATO as a fundamental transatlantic security
provider and organisations interaction with Ukraine. Being a Ukrainian himself he advocates
for Ukraine's sovereignty, border integrity and western development direction. With his
extensive work abroad he hopes to contribute to building resilience and international voice
for Ukraine. In his personal time Bohdan enjoys strategy board games and historical
documentaries.
