Craig Oliphant is Senior Adviser at the Foreign Policy Centre in London. A former British diplomat (FCDO), from 1990s to 2011, Craig focused in his career on Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia. He held senior posts at NATO in Brussels, at the OSCE HCNM in The Hague, and at the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg.
From 2011-present Craig has also worked in the NGO sector (Saferworld and PCi) as a policy adviser, with a focus on protracted conflicts. Graduated from the University of St Andrews in Scotland (MA Hons in modern languages), and worked in the 1980s at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. A Trustee for the John Smith fellowship Trust, Craig was awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2011.
